Start with Ask Salt
Start a conversation with Salt Agent and follow its tool activity.
Use Ask Salt to find a node for a Pipeline, inspect Salt Agent's work, and continue the conversation with a focused follow-up.
Prerequisites
You need a Salt account.
Start a conversation
Open Ask Salt
Click Ask Salt in the main sidebar.
The side pane opens with the Ask Salt BETA heading. The agent picker appears below the composer. If it shows a custom agent from an earlier chat, open the picker and select Salt Agent.
Send a node question
Send What nodes can I use to generate images from text?
Your question appears in the conversation. Salt Agent shows live activity such as Thinking... or Loading, then responds.
Inspect the tool activity
If Salt Agent used a tool, expand the activity disclosure in the turn, such as Ran 2 tools or Worked for 12s.
The disclosure opens to show the tool activity in stream order. A check marks completed activity, and an X marks failed activity.
If no work row appears, send Search the node catalog for text-to-image nodes. Tool selection is controlled by the agent, so a response can complete without a tool call.
Ask a follow-up
Send Which option should I start with, and what inputs and outputs should I expect?
The follow-up remains in the same thread with the earlier context. Salt Agent generates a response from that context.
